Sodexho USA Names Alfonso Martinez Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Corporate Services and Vending Division

GAITHERSBURG, MD, August 22, 2005 - Sodexho USA (NYSE: SDX), the nation's leading provider of food service and facilities management, announced recently that Alfonso Martinez has been named senior vice president of human resources for the Corporate Services and Vending Division.

Most recently, Martinez was the president and CEO of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility in Washington, D.C. In this role, he represented a board of directors consisting of 14 national Hispanic non-profit CEOs, with a mission to grow the inclusion of Hispanic community in corporate America in the areas of employment, procurement, philanthropy and board directorships.

Previously, Martinez spent 16 years with Marriott International in operational, diversity and human resource roles including general manager of the Bethesda Marriott hotel, vice president of workforce diversity and senior director of human resource services and associate feedback. Martinez also spent seven years in the financial services industry serving as a vice president of diversity and corporate responsibility, working in the area of minority markets business development.

Martinez is a graduate of the University of Denver School of Business and Hotel/Restaurant Management and earned a master's degree in organizational development from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He resides and will office in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
