ADRIAN, MI.- February 28, 2005 -Sodexho USA, the leading provider of food and facilities management services in the United States, announced today that it has been awarded a 10-year, $25 million booked volume contract to provide food service to Adrian College (Adrian).
Sodexho's partnership with the college includes a complete overhaul of Adrian's Ritchie Dining Hall (to be renamed Ritchie Marketplace), the premier resident dining location on campus to more than 1050 students and college administration.
The tired serving lines of yesteryear, where college students would shuffle through and have a choice of only a few entrees per meal, will be removed and the area transformed to include culinary stations, allowing students to choose from several daily specialties including Mongolian Grill selections, entrees, grill items, made-to-order pasta, pizza, and deli selections.
Full salad bars, an old fashioned ice cream parlor, freshly baked cookies and desserts will also be available to students everyday. Exhibition cooking will be front and center allowing entrees to be made fresh and hot for the taking. This is the first time this type of culinary style will be available on the Adrian campus.
“We are thrilled at the opportunity to bring a modern style of dining to the Adrian campus,” said John Reid, Sodexho's Senior Vice President. “By next semester, students on the Adrian campus will see a drastic transition from dreary to dazzling as the Ritchie Marketplace will breakout into a bold new dining location.”
Sodexho will also transform the entire Ritchie facility complete with a concierge station to welcome students entering the building, a fireplace for those cold Michigan nights and a lounge where students can share stories and recount the day with each other.
Sodexho has plans to renovate the Adrian Tobias Room, making the catering-oriented facility more elegant with additional seating for the Marketplace. The Caine Student Center Scoreboard Café will feature a Grill 155, Stack's Deli and Smart Market. A Quizno's Subs will be introduced to the Scoreboard Café in the fall of 2007.
