Debelius to hold national ADA position for three-year term

GAITHERSBURG, MD, May 1, 2006-Reinforcing its commitment to addressing childhood obesity and health and wellness in general, Sodexho (NYSE: SDX), the nation's leading provider of food and facilities management services, announced today the American Dietetic Association (ADA) has appointed a Sodexho dietitian to a three-year term as professional issues delegate for education.

Janet Debelius, the dietetic internship director for the mid-Atlantic region for Sodexho Health Care Services who has been with Sodexho more than seven years, was given the post by the ADA Nominating Committee. Debelius' expertise is in nutrition education, in which she educates and trains the registered dietitians of the future. In the new role, which begins in June, she will represent several dietitian groups within ADA, specializing in various topics such as diabetes, nutrition support and pediatrics, and will act as the voice for these groups at the House of Delegates meetings.

“With childhood obesity on the rise and health and wellness a top priority, the ADA plays a critical role in addressing these issues that are affecting many Americans,” said Debelius. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring my expertise to the table and to contribute to the efforts of the ADA in promoting nutrition and wellness.”

During her career, Debelius has authored a comprehensive, self-study for The Commission for the Accreditation of Dietetic Education (CADE) guidelines, completed CADE Site Visitor requirements for full accreditation of the dietetic internship and wrote Program Assessment Report to continue program accreditation. She holds a bachelor of science degree in dietetics from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI and a master of arts degree in educational leadership from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI.
