Sodexho Wins 10-Year, $112 Million Food Service Contract with George Washington University

7/26/2006

Plans for improvements include rennovated facilities and new menus

WASHINGTON, DC -July 27, 2006 - Sodexho (NYSE: SDX) the leading provider of integrated food and facilities management on college and university campuses across the United States, today announced it has been awarded a 10-year, $11.2 million annual contract with George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Sodexho was awarded the contract and replaces Aramark as a result of GW's competitive bid process.

“GW strives to provide students with a variety of options and freedom of choice in dining and Sodexho's robust retail operation is a good fit for the GW dining model, “said Louis Katz, GW executive vice president and treasurer. “Sodexho produced an impressive proposal with several unique concepts and we look forward to working with GW students and Sodexho to continue to enhance the GW experience.”

Sodexho will be making several improvements to the campus's dining offerings by renovating facilities, adding new locations and completely overhauling menus. Research on campus indicated students liked the a la carte style but missed having a campus restaurant atmosphere where they can have a relaxing meal with friends and numerous meal choices including vegetarian selections. Renovations will be completed by the start of the fall semester. “Our ability to successfully manage a high-traffic retail environment makes us the best provider for these services on the George Washington University campus,” said John Iacunato, senior vice president for Sodexho, Inc.

Sodexho will introduce new restaurant brands at the Marvin Center that offer a more diverse selection. WOW Café, a New Orleans inspired wing café will be added and could potentially serve beer and wine. Quiznos will replace Subway and Chick-Fil-A will be re-introduced as it was a part of the Marvin Center years before. At the J Street Café, Sodexho will implement an all-you-can eat buffet open for lunch and dinner.

Sodexho will utilize its proprietary software, LifeSTYLING¸ to develop menus and entrée selections specifically to the college students taste on the George Washington campus. LifeSTYLING is a unique database that encapsulates detailed market research like demographics, psychographics and geographic information in order to identify general patterns that guide college student dining choices.
