Sodexho Mexico Awarded Social Responsibility Award for Third Consecutive Year

Mexico City, Mexico, February 26, 2007 - Sodexho Mexico is pleased to announce it has been awarded the prestigious Empresa Socialmente Responsable (ESR) Distinctive certification by the Mexican Philanthropy Center. This is the third year Sodexho has earned the award, and is the only integrated facilities management company in Mexico to receive the award.

Sodexho earned the award by successfully competing in four areas: quality of life in the company; corporate ethics; community links and environment care and protection.  

“Sodexho Mexico has a consistent commitment to respect our people, our environment and our stakeholders,” said Humberto A. Patorniti, president of Sodexho Mexico. “The ESR award is especially fulfilling for us because it recognizes our programs that show this commitment.”

Sodexho's corporate social responsibility programs in Mexico include community outreach programs, environmental protection practices and employee programs.

Sodexho's Stop Hunger program (part of a global effort), embraces the cause of ending hunger and its causes such as poverty. Sodexho Mexico donates food to orphanages and elder homes, and provides education about healthy eating in selected communities.

Protecting the environment requires a focus on recycling and other areas - Sodexho Mexico has permanent programs to recycle paper, cardboard and computer printer toner, and educates its employees on the importance of paying attention to the issue.

Most important to Sodexho is its employees. Sodexho Mexico has established educational programs for its employees and their family members to finish primary and secondary studies.
