GAITHERSBURG, Md , May 24, 2007 - Sodexho (NYSE: SDX) has been recognized for its leadership role in creating a corporate culture that embraces and promotes diversity for women. The company has earned a Top 20 spot on Working Mother's Best Companies for Multicultural Women.
“Sodexho is more diverse from the average corporation; it is a true champion of diversity,” noted Rohini Anand, senior vice president and chief diversity officer for Sodexho. “Diversity and inclusion is not a task at Sodexho, it is part of the fabric of our culture.”
According to Working Mother, the Top 20 Companies list is determined solely from a comprehensive application that measures data about the hiring, pay and promotion of multicultural employees. Application questions cover workforce profile (such as number of women of color, women in top positions, top earners); culture (programs for women of color, manager behavior); external programs (diversity activities); and work/life programs (child care, elder care, time off following childbirth). This year, Working Mother gave particular weight went to questions involving the representation, recruitment and retention of women of color.
Sodexho continues to be lauded by leading organizations and publications for its commitment to diversity and inclusion. Most recently, the company was named to DiversityInc ® magazine's list of Top 50 Companies for Diversity along with Latina Style magazine's list of “Top 50 Companies for Latinas” and as one of Hispanic Trends magazine's “Top 50 Corporations for Supplier Diversity. Sodexho has also been named a Top 10 Company for Asian Americans by Asian Enterprise Magazine.”
